MobilityOne Consortium Selected for MOLIT’s “Drone Commercialization Support Project” in Localization Category

Advancing VTOL & Fixed-Wing Drone Swarm Operations and Key Component Localization

MobilityOne Consortium announced on the 6th that it has been selected in the localization category of the “Drone Commercialization Support Project” hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology.

A total of 39 drone companies applied for the project, and following evaluation by private experts, seven were selected, including the MobilityOne Consortium.

The consortium consists of MobilityOne, as the lead company, and Namyang Nexmo as a partner. MobilityOne specializes in multi-type drone and robot integrated operation platforms and will take charge of localizing and demonstrating VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) and fixed-wing drone swarm operation solutions. Namyang Nexmo, an automotive parts company, will be responsible for developing and mass-producing core drone components such as motors and gearboxes.

Demonstration sites include dedicated domestic drone airfields as well as international locations such as South Africa and Bangladesh. MobilityOne stated, “We plan to expand into global markets such as the U.S., where Chinese drones are restricted, and also enter Korea’s largest drone market in the defense sector. We also expect to accelerate the global rollout of our VTOL and fixed-wing drone swarm operation solutions.”
