Mobility One CEO Presents Vision for AI-Powered Future Military Transportation Operations

Hyunwook Ryu presents integrated operations for multiple heterogeneous reconnaissance drones

Receives Certificate of Appreciation from Commander of ROK Armed Forces Transportation Command

Mobility One announced that CEO Hyunwook Ryu delivered a presentation and participated in a panel discussion at the 27th Defense Transportation and Logistics Development Seminar, held on October 21 at the Republic of Korea Armed Forces Transportation Command.

Ryu delivered a presentation titled “Integrated Operations of Multiple Heterogeneous Reconnaissance Drones and AI-Powered Future Transportation Operations.” He outlined the technological and operational direction for integrating drones and robotic systems into future military transportation missions.

The presentation focused on operating multiple reconnaissance drones from different manufacturers and of different types through a unified system. It also addressed the potential use of AI in transportation-route reconnaissance, hazard detection, real-time situational analysis, and operational control.

Ryu emphasized that future military transportation operations will require more than the individual performance of each drone or robot. An integrated command-and-control capability will be essential to combine data collected by different unmanned systems and deploy the most appropriate assets in response to changing mission conditions.

Mobility One’s proprietary M1UCS, or Mobility One Unified Control System, is designed to operate various unmanned platforms through a single system. These platforms include multicopters, vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, unmanned ground vehicles, and quadruped robots.

M1UCS supports mission assignment, simultaneous multi-vehicle operations, real-time video and sensor-data monitoring, route management, and communication-network integration. These capabilities could help military transportation units identify road conditions, obstacles, hostile threats, and other hazards before deployment, enabling safer and more efficient route planning.

During the panel discussion following the presentations, Ryu shared his views on the development of AI- and unmanned-system-based transportation operations. He also discussed the technical challenges of connecting heterogeneous platforms and the need for phased demonstrations under actual military operating conditions.

Other participating companies included LIG D&A and Hyundai Rotem. Through discussions with these companies, Mobility One confirmed a shared vision for the integrated operation of drones and robotic systems. The companies also expressed their intention to explore future cooperation in related technologies and business opportunities.

In recognition of his contribution to the development of military transportation and logistics, Ryu received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Commander of the ROK Armed Forces Transportation Command.

“Future military transportation will evolve beyond the simple movement of personnel and supplies,” Ryu said. “Drones and robots will survey transportation routes and identify potential hazards in advance, while AI will analyze the collected data and support faster, more informed operational decisions.”

“This seminar confirmed that the military and industry share a common direction for the future of unmanned transportation systems,” he added. “Based on Mobility One’s technology for the integrated operation of multiple heterogeneous unmanned systems, we will actively support the Armed Forces Transportation Command in expanding its use of drones and robotic platforms.”

Building on its participation in the seminar and the recognition received, Mobility One plans to strengthen cooperation with the ROK Armed Forces Transportation Command and relevant defense companies. The company will also pursue demonstration and R&D opportunities in areas such as transportation-route reconnaissance, advance exploration of hazardous areas, and real-time sharing of transportation-operational information using drones and ground robots.
