Mobility One Selected for TIPS, the Private Investment-Led Technology Startup Support ProgramMobility One Selected for TIPS, Aiming to Lead in Drone and Robot Integration Technology.
Mobility One (CEO Hyunwook Ryu) announced on the 17th that it has been officially selected for the TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups), a private investment-led technology startup support program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
TIPS is a program designed to discover and nurture promising tech startups capable of leading global markets. Selected companies receive up to KRW 500 million in R&D funding over two years, supporting early-stage technology development and market entry.
Mobility One has developed the M1UCS (Mobility One Unified Control System), a platform that enables integrated management of heterogeneous drones and robots through a single application.
During its participation in the TIPS program, Mobility One plans to develop fixed-wing drone swarm control technology. This technology aims to achieve both high precision and efficiency in large-scale aerial surveying, utilizing fixed-wing drones.
Fixed-wing drones can fly low (below 150 meters) for precision photography and have flight durations 3-4 times longer than multicopter drones, enabling wider coverage per flight. Mobility One has optimized efficiency by pioneering swarm operation technology for such drones. The company anticipates this will enhance its competitiveness in the rapidly growing national and urban-scale digital twin market.
According to Mobility One, the global market for aerial surveying and 3D spatial information exceeded KRW 7 trillion in 2023 and is projected to grow annually by more than 14% through 2032.
In November, Mobility One showcased its large-scale aerial surveying and monitoring technology based on VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drones during the South Africa-Korea Drone Roadshow organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. The company plans to present its technology to a global audience at CES 2025 in January.
Yang Heewon, Vice President of KingoSpring, who recommended Mobility One for TIPS and presented on their behalf, remarked, “Mobility One has demonstrated innovative technology and vision in drone and robot integration from the start. This latest technological development will provide a differentiated solution to address key challenges in the global digital twin market.”
